Default jersey cape cc

A friend and I talked about the new 31 Jersey Cape CC. I believe it is based on the old Rybo Runner hull. He's thinking about a single diesel volvo with the jackshaft/ outdrive. Does anyone have any thoughts on this setup?

I'm not too familiar with the boat but wonder how it would perform with a single diesel option. Nothing wrong with a jackshaft/outdrive layout. The new Volvo composite outdrive has been great so far.

I dont think you cannot get the composite drive with a diesel... Only 4.3l, 5.0l, 5.7l, and 8.1l gas.

Saw it at the AC show. Overall the boat impressed me but the step up in the cockpit looked hazardous.

Jersey Cape hasn't put in their THT/Miami Show photo request yet.

Hopefully they will soon and I'll grab some more shots for ya.

Agree with cwitch. Saw the boat at the AC show, and my friend and I could not believe the hazardous 2" step up that covers a large portion of the back deck. What the he// were they thinking when they designed the boat. Or come to think of it they designed the boat, then tried to shoe horn the engine in

Fit and finish average on the boat as well. FYI these are the boats that are used as Para-sail rental boats up and down the east coast.

We saw that also, would definitely have to mount a cooler on that step to keep from tripping

I liked the boat at AC show. I've watched those boats run up here in NJ and they always look good running. The step covering the engine is my greatest dislike. I am sure it is that way because they can't get the engine lower due to the hull/box design. When talking to the guy there it seems that they are making some changes to the boat. It is a very simple and economic 31 foot boat with diesiel power. The fish box up front was very deep but not that long though. Big tunas would need to be detailed/deheaded to fit in level.

The Albin was also very nice but dirty. I am really thinking about going desiel on my next boat. The cup holders will break on one trip, and the latches were a little sloppy matching with the deck.

Both boats had excellent access to motors and transmissions. Neither boat had finish work like a top tier boat like contender or something similiar.
