Favorite Bars/Restaurants in Key Largo - The Hull Truth

I am staying in Ocean Reef and need to get out to experience some real Keys culture. Any recommendations?

Fish House is my favorite restaurant (I was just there Sunday). Carribean Club and Sharkys are my favorite bars.

We stayed at the Ocean Reef Club 2 weeks ago and ate at the Fish House - good food, laid back atmosphere, decent prices. (Rock bottom prices compared to the O.R. Club 1)

The Brother in Law of the Carribean Club owner was our captain, good guy.

1- sharkys is good for locals,and happy hour.then eat upstairs at the galley. 2- pilothouse is good for happy hour and locals you can eat outside or inside two different menus.3- snooks is good for happy hour (sunset) pretty good food.4- gilberts is good for happy hour ,finger foods. 5- hobos has very good food,gets crowded.6- carribean club is good to have a drink ,hang out ,chill.

Make the drive down to Islamorada and pig out at Whale Harbor! Great Buffet.

The outside bar at Snappers (mm 95) is fun for a few drinks after dinner. I also go to the Encore for their sushi boat. Mandalay Bay is also good. They have made many improvements since last year. They also have entertainment at dinner time. I'm not sure of the mm # but it is oceanside near Shellworld probably around mm98.

I have a place in Key Largo and here is a list of a few of my favorite places:

1. Fish House Encore- MM 102.4 , phone # 305-451-0650, Great food and Sushi.
2. Lazy Dayz - MM 79.9, phone # 305-664-5256, If you catch any fish bring the cleaned fillets to them to prepare, they do a fantastic job. Make sure you call for resevations.
3. Old Tavernier - MM 90.1, phone # 305-852-8106, call for reservations.
4. Pierres at Morada Bay - MM 81.6, phone # 305-664-3225, Another great place but is on the pricey side. Morada Bay also has a great place for lunch that sits right on the beach, great afternoon atmosphere.
5. World Wide Sportsman - MM 81, Fantastic sporting good store with nice clothes for him and her. The Zane Gray lounge upstairs is a good spot for sunset drinks.
6. Lore Lei's - MM 82, phone # 305-664-4656, Good outside bar with entertainment in the evening.
7. Snappers - MM 94.5, phone # 305-852-5956, On the ocean with decent food, the kids will get a kick out of feeding the large tarpon that hang out at the dock.
8. Snooks - MM 99.9, phone # 305-453-3799, Pretty sunsets, decent food with tables on the beach, outside bar with entertainment.

This is just a list of a few of the places in the area, ask around and you will find alot more. I can't wait to get back down in a few weeks.

I went straight from the boat to dinner, so I am just now getting your recommendations. My girlfriend and I went to Lore Lei's for sunset drinks and then to Marker 88 for dinner - I am very satisfied with both. Lore Lei's has just been redone since the hurricane and is awesome for sunset.

Judging from the input, I am going to need to go to the Fish House before I leave.

Bentleys...Islamorada. Just ate there yesterday. Incredible meal...not a single complaint except that I had to come back to NY today

Sorry to drag this thread from the deep but I was wondering what bars/restaurants you could get to by boat? The only one I have found bayside has been Snook's. Anyothers that let you tie up?
