Awesome boat, Kevlar vacuum bagged construction. One of the few to use such expensive methods. Great company and superior fit and finish. You can't go wrong! However, I would have a little reservations about the 250 HPDI's but that's just me. If the price was right and they were still under warranty, I'd take a serious look.

One came to our THT GTG over the summer. All I can say is wow!!!! The guys who sell them are GREAT guys too (and members of the board.) They have one with twin 275 Verados (why risk the 250 HPDI's?). You should call them for a quote:

They are only 1 hour and half to 2 hours away from Cape May. My bet is that they would love to take you for a test ride and show you the Verados..

I think he meant 60 MPH. It would be fast but I think 60 is a little out of the 34's range. Still an awesome boat!

It may very well run 60, because I have heard that the 300xs are strong. I know for a fact that with 250 OX66 two stroke yamis, the 34 will run just under 40 knots light. The 300 xs would probably be my choice too, but they would have to do a hell of alot of pushin' to touch 60.

Best riding monohull of its size IMO.

I'd rank similar size monohull smoothness of ride in seas like this:

Venture 34
Regulator 33
Contender 33
Hydra-Sports 33
Yellowfin34
Jupiter

I'm sure others will disagree. Just my opinion. Venture is awesome.... Top of the heap. When you marry that aggressive variable deadrise with weight..... it just crushes waves. A blend of modern hull shape with old school battle wagon manufacturing.

The Venture is a great boat. There is one on Kent Island, MD at Alliance Marine. Call Jeff for a demo. I would trade three of my Monza 34 for that boat. It is definitely at the top.

Just bought a Venture 34. In the process of repowering with Yamaha F250 four strokes. Have run many a Contender, including the 36's, so looking forward to what is probably the best quality hard core fishing center console out there. Realize that we'll give up a little top end from our Contender 27 with F225's, but for the trade of a better quality build, with much better offshore comfort level, and only a slight decrease in fuel economy, I think it will be worth it. We'll see.........Should get the boat back here in two weeks.

I fish one with 250 OX-66's regularly. You won't see anything remotely close to 60, 42kts is more like it. One very nice boat, I think you'll be tickled pink with it.

I also looked at the 34 Venture no question best built CC on the market but I could not justify 229,000 plus electronics. I question the resale in the North East for that boat, maybe in Florida but not here. I went with the Triton 351 with Triple 250 Verado's for the value and the layout ,I really needed the lockable rod storage. I love the Triton and the Verado's are amazing.

I have a friend that did exactly as you did, he looked at my other buds 34 Venture. Having fished both, I think it'd be a tough call between the boats if it were my money. I like the Triton layout better, styling and quality noticeably better on the Venture. I also know a guy who just traded his 34 Venture on a new 306 Bimini and claims he got what he paid for it, it's probably an '03 or so.... A lot to be said for that.

Edit: I would run the HPDI's for the next 1000 hours. I don't see any significant speed change happening to one of those without adding another 200hp or so.
