Default suzuki Warrenty ??

Anybody know the deal with the 6 year suzuki warrenty. I've heard mixed reports on what it actually covers. A mechanic friend told me the 1st 3 years were covered from suzuki, and the last 3 years were from a different year. But, after the 1st year the amount of coverage decreases, until the new company picks up years 4,5,and 6. Anybody know anything about this??

It is normal for a Motorcycle to have a 5 to 10 year warranty.

The first 3 years is covered by Suzuki, 4 thru 6 are underwritten by GE Financial and your Suzuki dealer handles all claims. The declining 2nd & 3rd year coverage was discontinued in 2001, however the Extended Protection Plan filled in the declining coverage in years 2 & 3. There is a $25 deductible and there is a $50 towing coverage.

Their current ext. warranty is only on 4-strokes. Is that what you're buying, Outcast?

The promotion only applies to 4-strokes. The only 2-strokes left are the 150 and 225 - and those are going away next year with the introduction of the new V6 4-stroke.

I'm buying the 140 4 strokes. So the declining warrenty has been discontinued?? So I have complete coverage for 6 years?

Correct. The $25 deductible is for each of 6 major components of the engine. Piston seizure is only covered if due to a factory defect (not likely after break-in period). By the way this year instead of the extended warranty you can take a cash rebate ($500 for the 140).

I've heard about the $500 bucks, but the warrenty seems to be the better of the 2. What do you guys think??? I think all of us would buy a 3 year warrenty for 500 bucks
