Default boat transport

looking at a 35 ft downeast flybridge boat in fla. for possible purchase.was wondering what my options are for bringing the boat up to Long Island,NY.would prefer an overland delivery if possible.any ideas on cost would be appreciated, as need to adjust my offer accordingly.thanks

Unless the trucker can get a load going in the opposite direction you may be in for some heavy deadheading charges.

Here is one in the middle. I used him for a short haul 5 years ago & know of a few others here who have nothiong but praise for him. If there is no time urgency you might be able to wait till he has a load going your way & coming back to the mid Atlantic afterward.

I just purchased a boat from Va. and had it delivered to Mass.
I found the boat transport the most frustrating of the boat buying experience. I priced it through a couple of online services and hired a recommended local guy. He was the most expensive but I figured a couple of extra dollars would be negligible considering the overall purchase and value of the freight. I won't bore you with all the details, but if you are quoted a price of $2000, figure on another $500 of coincidental's. Also, try and schedule around the busy marina seasons or expect too pay even more.

you may want to think about dropping in NJ as taking a boat onto LI NY by truck is very expensive
