Default Bluewater 2350 BEFORE they moved the console forward...

Hi Folks,

I'm seriously looking at a 99 or 2000 Bluewater 2350. I have heard excellent things from many owners of newer 2350s but am a bit concerned about the older ones. I know they made the 23 out of the 25 design and just shortened the back, initially. I heard they moved the console forward in 2002 or 2003 to better distribute the weight. I've heard from some that the older ones run the risk of having water come in the scuppers if there are people in the back of the boat. Others told me they mainly moved the console forward to better accommodate twin engines. I'm curious to hear from any owners or those familiar with the ride and handling of the earlier model 2350. I'd LOVE to be able to buy new but would really be pushing my budget if I were to do so.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

-Chad

Water through the scuppers is not a risk, just something that many people do not want to have. Other people it seems do not care whether they do or not.

The biggest difference IMO of the console forward design is that you get some room behind the console to fish. Some CC boats have very little room between the leaning post and the transom, some so much that it is too crowded for more than two people to fish back there.

Personally, I'd call Bluewater and ask them. The guy that runs that company (Paul?) usually answers the phone. He's a nice guy and will explain the differences between the models.

The first BW I tested was a 2001 b/f they moved the C/C forward. The boat rode awesome. When I orderd my 1st BW (2350 w/twin 115 Yamaha 4's) in 2002 I was told it was moved forward to accomidate twin's.

Test run the boat in nasty weather & you'll see for your self. Good luck you won't be dissapointed.

I own a 1999 Bluewater 2350 with a Single Yamaha 200 OX66. I do not get any water in thru the scuppers. I have been in some nasty seas with her and have had 4 big guys over on one side towards the back corner. I would not hesitate buying either a 99 or 00 model. The boats are laid out well and ride very well for a 23.
