Default 22 Bay Scout with 150 Yamaha Four stroke

Any experience or thoughts on this combination. Yamaha performance bulletin shows 48 mph at 5900 RPM which is plenty for me but that was with one person and half a tank of gas and little equipment. Concerned if this is enough motor. Also, any thoughts on the boat.
Thanks

She's gonna be slow. Your looking at 45 then load her down and your in the low 40s top end.

Friend of mine has a 22 nautic star with that engine. Real world is low 40's with load. I could be wrong but I believe the scout is heavier than the star. A 22 fter and a 150 is borderline. A 200 or 225 is better IMO.

Take off 2 mph for Ttop
Take off 1 mph for full tank
Take 1/3 mph per additional passenger.

That should be about right.

IMHO: you'll be seeing about 44 mph full wot. Cruise with yamaha will be 29 @ 4200 rpm give or take.

I run a 21' with f150. wot bimini down is 49 mph, bimini up is 47. full tank is 45 into wind and 47 downwind. wind and current make a difference. Cruise @ 4200 is tween 27 and 31 pending on wind direction/speed. Average fuel consumption is 3.3 mpg. I also run in a 26' SV w twin verado 175 and it's wot with ttop and loaded is 47mph with 1/2 tank, 46 full tank w 4 aboard. No clue as to consumption but it should be about 2.3 mpg

I have the 190 Costa flats boat and it runs right at 50 mph with one person and a full tank of fuel. The dry weight of this boat and F150 motor is right at 1700 lbs. The 22 Bay Scout weights 650 lbs more and carries more fuel so I would say this boat probably would run in the low 40's at best.

I think you are confirming my suspicions. I have also noticed that there are quite a few 22 Bays with a 150 for sale but none with a 200 or 225. I am beginning to suspect that it is a very good combo with the bigger motors but those with the 150 are not happy with the performance and looking to sell and upgrade.
