Default Fla Keys/Marathon in the Fall

Hey guys, I have not been to the Keys for about 10 years and want to plan a trip. Due to circunstances out of my control we need to go the first or second week in Sept. other than keeping a sharp eye on the weather what can I expect to catch and do in Sept. Would the Fall be considered a good time or bad time to go.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Gary

It can be an exciting time as well. Andrew was the last week in August, this past year Katrina was the first week in September, Wilma was October 24. September is historically the most active month of hurricane season.

But a trip in September beats no trip at all!

March - June are my favorite times. The days get longer, the weather is dryer and the nights are cooler. The snowbirds generally leave after Passover/Easter, making things less crowded for us all.

Autumn is a great time to be here as long as there are no hurricanes. It's pretty hot and humid. That's why it's the slow season. On the other hand, there aren't many tourists here. The water is flat, clear, and warm.
