Default rod holders on the back of leaning post

I'm considering installing like 4-5 rod holders that clamp on to the rear of my leaning post,
question for people that have them, does it become a problem with walking around the back of the boat ? with the rods sticking up an all ? thanks

I like them because when I'm leaning on the seat ans a fish hits I feel it shaking....

Check my album for pic of some DuBro rodholders mounted on my Scout 202 LP.
The wrap around rail is OEM.

Yes - It's a problem and I don't use them for fishing rods. The four holders have a Boga, a maglight and a vrious pliers etc handy....

Paxfish is right on. They are a terrible space for rods and a great place for tools like the Boga grip. I have a good size cockpit (25 ft CC) and I still feel that the rods get in the way. I always put them on the T-top when not in use.

Had them on a couple boats
They definately add bling! If they are the standard 33" (+/-) be sure they are mounted at 15 not 30 degrees. I never liked them there when running and someone holding on back there.

You'll be happier with them up high. My fear is that someone loosing balance grabs on and snaps a very expensive rod in half. I'll use them for short moves but run with them up on the top and out of the way.

I had then built-into the leaning post on my last boat...

While they were great for a lot of things, you would not want them there if access to the rear of the cockpit was something you had to do frequently.

Get the rod holders on your leaning post if they won't impair the functionality of the leaning post or storage compartments. Yea, once you put rods in them, the rods will be in the way big time. But just cause you have them doesn't mean you have to put rods in them. Like others have said you can use it for storage for other small but essential items

Like paxfish, I have a boga, pliers, hook remover, leatherman in mine. Similar style to leaning post just above. The only time my rods are in those holders is when I'm rigging up, I may stick the rod I'm rigging in there, otherwise there are stored up top or under the gunnels where they won't get broken.

I can put a backrest in mine but it takes up the two outter spots, reducing the total number to 2
