Send a picture; if you can. My first new Whaler was a 1982 18' Outrage. I have most of the catalogs since then. Do not remember seeing any blue Whalers...you could order them with different colors ofgelcoat. Now they are painted with Awlgrip. Also ask the same question on Continuous Wave

Check out these pics. If it looks like this its a Whaler. Yes, they did make a bass boat complete with pedestal seats. http://continuouswave.com/whaler/cet...ceaPage05.html

From what I have found out, they made a Sport,Super Sport and a Striper that year in a 15 footer only.Apparantly it must be one of those and it only books for around a grand with no engine. It does have a trailer though so maybe it's worth a grand?

Should be a good boat. McKee Craft also has hulls going back many years that are quite similar. Here is mine: http://home.sc.rr.com/linusb212/main/boat/

How much is he wanting to sell it for? What is the condition?

What's the hull number? The first 2 digits are the year. If it doesn't have a hull number then it is a pre-72 which all Whalers in that era were blue on the inside.

The only 80sor newer smallWhaler that was blue (in my memory) was the Limited Edition (Anniversary?) 13', and that was just the inside of the boat (and in light blue), like the original 13s. I think that was in the mid 90s though.

I was shopping for a 15 a few years ago and found a lot of people had modified theirs (usually for the worse) into some sort of bastardized fishing boat... What I've read on the colored gel coat was that it was a fad that never took off, and was in the bigger boats (with the exception of the Red 15' Mischif). I've never seen one with the colors... Continuous Wave is probably the best place to take this question though.

Thanks for the replies guys.He said it is what they called a 16.He also says it is the first Whaler "bassboat".I don't know if it's worth anything or not.Book price (which from what I have heard means nothing on a Whaler) is only 1000.00.He wants about that for it with no engine (it does have a trailer).I figured it may be a good St. Johns river boat for shrimping and if I didn't like it,sell it for a hundred or two more that I have in it??
