Default Capt'n C's Seacraft

I read about Capt'n C's poor treatment at the hand of Tracker in another thread. All boat makers are not the same. I bought a 1998 Regulator 26, and at the end of the first season, I noticed some cracks where the stringer joined the hull. The dealer called Regulator and they gave me a brand new hull within weeks, no questions asked. Great customer service.

You are right. Why bother with a company that has a spotty reputation. There are too many alternatives that do not have the risk. When CaptNC has his problem, people wanted to doubt him. We kept hearing rumblings about other Seacrafts and Makos having problems. People cast doubt on CaptNCs account and then last year we found another brand new 25' Secraft that was defective right from the get go and was refunded his money after some time.

We also keep hearing that the new NC plant has resolved their problems. Obviously that is not so. If someone wants to risk their $80k on a new SeaCraft then go right ahead, but don't say that we didn't tell you so after the fact.

For me, I llike the seacraft's, but would rather spend 10k on a junked out potter hull and spend 40k rebuilding it than taking my chances on a new one. I'd have an original classic without the worries of factory support.
