STARTED MY COURSE FOR THE 6 PACK CAPTAINS LICENSE THIS WEEKEND- MAN ITS NO JOKE- I AM STRUGGLING WITH THE PLOTTING- I NEED SOME HELP TO PASS THE COAST GUARD TEST- ANY SUGGESTIONS- TUTORS ETC

I did mine last Fall. If your instructor is decent, you should pick it up if you keep at it. We spent 2 days in class on this. It's amazing how accurate you have to be or it really gets your answers way off. The answers are all very close, so you have to have a sharp pencil and accuracy is everything. You only have to make 70 on that part of the test, so you should be fine. I think most of the posters on THT look down their noses at OUPV, so don't expect a lot of sympathy. I don't know about the guys offering your class, but the guys offering my class would work with you until you passed. We had 4 guys in the class and only one of us had to re-take a test and he had missed one class session.

Do you have a copy of Chapmans ?

They explain "Plotting" quite well.

I also received this publication when I attended a course given by the USCG Aux.

"Advanced Costal Navigation". Good reading !!

The course was much more advanced than the OUPV requires.

FWIW....I found the Licensing "Schools" teach you how to pass the test but have limited time to teach the material.
