I just got to Atlantic City a couple of hours for the boat show at the Atlantic City Convention Center. We are staying at the Sheraton across the street. What a killer room ! Very nice and big with a great view. I'll be at the Davit Master booth all weekend. Any THT members comming to the show ? If so, stop by our booth and say "hi". If anybody is getting together for a drink let me know. I'll be back at the office on Tuesday.
I was there Friday. Great show, went to 3 seminars and won a bunch of good stuff, saw a lots of super boats, fun flea market, not crowded, what more can I say in my 4th straight year of attendance. Learned a lot and will be back next year on schedule.
Several things I noticed that stood out about the show.
1. no real good deals in the vendor areas
2. big raymarine presence! They were on everything and everywhere in the vendor area
3. more and more etecs popping up. I was impressed by the quietness of the running display-with power and low maintenance it would be my engine of choice--they just need a bigger dealer/tech presence here on the Chesapeake.
4. The prices have taken a big jump again! (lots of 26'ers over 100k)
5. The May-craft 2550 was the boat that stole the show
B Faithful-spent dome tine on the 2550 with twin hondas. Likes the simplistic design but not sure neck could handle the ride that far forward. Good Bang for the $$ in a pilot House
Was there on Friday alone and will be back again with the family on Sunday.......Still trying to decide between the CC, Albie or Henriques...but I am now leaning towards the ............................stay tuned..... I to was surprised by the surge in prices on the 25-30 foot outboard boats. The prices seem to be going up faster than ever......
I was there Thurs. I went to look at the smaller albie, CC, and Henriques. They're all nice, but i think that you get more a little more from the 28-30 outboard express style boats. The inboards have only a v-berth, whereas the outboard boats have two sleeping areas and a little more room below. The big verado's and Yammies look like they can do the job pushing these boats. My favorite boat was the Whaler 28 ft conquest.
Attempted to get there today. Drove from West Chester, PA only to fight traffic once in Altantic City. No where was it posted that the parking at the Convention center was full. Found out in front of the Convention Center where they were turning back cars. I will go next year but on Thursday or Friday. I should have known better then to go on a Saturday.
I believe the 2520SL was either 64k or 67k with a transom mount Yammie. Then again I cant even remember what the dealer with the May-craft 2550XL was asking so I could be wrong...
