Default New (to me) Pursuit 3070 Express

As some of you know, I've been looking at these boats, Grady White Marlin 300's and the cat products, but I finally did the deed on a 2003 Pursuit 3070 Express Offshore with F225 Yamahas.

From the hundreds of boats I looked at online, the 20 or so I spoke with people about, I negitiated a deal on this boat rather quickly. Both the seller and I knew the market and we agreed upon a fair price.

Thanks to everyone for your help - a lot of you did. I used "search" a lot and read all the stuff posted about every boat I considered - including electronics, engines and layout. There is more "outsite the manuals" "real world" information on boating posted here than in any repository on Earth.

My wife told me "no projects, just fishing" with this boat, but I've just got to add spreader lights and one of those fluorescents in the T-Top. And then a remote spotlite. And air conditioning before the summer gets here!

The seller has a nice triple axle trailer - he offered it to me for a good deal, but I didn't take it.... only regret so far... I've gotta get it out of the water to install AC!

Is there a Pusuit owners site somewhere I'm missing?

Thanks again!

We had one but it died of neglect. I think the problem for the site was that Pursuits generally don't have any inherent problems to biatch about and that S2 and Leon already anticipated improvements and modifications before they actuallybuilt the Pursuit line. Main concerns expressed on the site was always power related, not boat issues.

congrats nice boat. it came up 6 months or so ago about a pursuit owneers website and the answer was no. apparently there had been one but it is closed down. I also have the 2003 express with f225s. I have 25 hours but no problems on it without problems. if you want to keep the hull warranty in place for the 5 year standard period you have to fill something out with pursuit and pay a small fee within 30 days of buying the used boat. good luck I really like mine

It is a taco light, but with some red plastic taped over half the lens so you can rotate it depending on what you need. I bought it from these people: http://www.sanchezbrotherscustomfabrication.com/

Pictures soon. Thanks for the light input, I'll pick one up at Outdoor World.

I noticed oil in the water today around the engines when I lowered them into the water and again at the gas dock. I washed everything off really well and will check again tomorrow.

Survey showed water in oil in lower unit, owner had it fixed at a reputable shop, this may be residual oil from the leak. But I don't want to take a chance, so I see a haulout/check in the near future.

If you read this and know how to transfer Yamaha warranty, please let me know. I'll call a dealer tomorrow.

Pictures over the weekend!

I think you contact your local yamaha dealer / authorized service people to transfer the warranty on the outbords
