Default Do I want oil bath hubs?

I have been reading allot about oil bath hubs on Boat trailers. Is it worth it?? Have any of you guys done the switch? And while we are at it, is the disc btake conversion worth it, those bronze discs really LOOK trick. Thanks in advance fellas.

My dealer told me when I rebuilt my trailer that all of the oil bath hubs that he sold new are now back to the old grease style. I like to go with what I know works for me.

No personal experience, but I think if anything happens to the oil reservoir, the oil will leak out rather quickly while if you loose a grease cap you will still have grease for a long while.

No, you don't want oil bath hubs. I've owned them for several years now--and they don't hold up to the elements like the grease hubs do. (I know 3 other guys with the same type hubs that have the same problems). However, it was easy to drain the oil and pump trailer grease into the fitting. I've used the grease know for a year and half and its been much better. The Posi-lube system works great for me, and I have the comfort of knowing the grease gets into the back of the bearings like it should.
