My wife purchased a box of XXTRa large for me. I loaded one up with stuff to take to the boat but found it was a bit too big to carry comfortably by the handle - I had to hold it up to avoid scuffing it on the ground. So try the smaller size for carrying things. Othen than that, they are great for storage - strong and air-tight.
They would be great for storing wet bathing suits,towels,etc...for the ride back. Sounds like a must for any boat. I have been using 1 gallon bags for ice, this thread also gives me the idea of using 2 gallon bags
Yep - they're great for storing extra dry clothes "just in case" as well as for storing other misc. items on the boat that you just don't want to get wet.
My admiral was convinced that space bags were the answer to boat storage of clothes and linens so she bought several sets. When compressed they did take up significantly less room allowing her to stow enough extra crap that I was worried about the extra fuel required to push the additional load. Okay not really but you get the point.
Only problem was that after several uses the bags stopped sealing. Every single one broke in less than five uses. When she returned them to the store the salesclerk told her that alot of these have come back for the same reason.
Good idea and maybe we got a bad batch but we now take less with us on our cruises. And Zip Locs have never failed us. The larger size is a great idea.
