It's a 1992 Parker mod-V Sport Cabin bought from Harvard University. It used to be their old research vessel, cruising Boston Haba collecting water samples.
Sat empty in a yard for a few seasons ... so I bought the empty hull cheap. It had no OB and all the electrical items and pumps, etc., needed replacing. A little bit of DIY work and elbow grease and she looks pretty good !
I just added a signature to my posts and wanted to try it to see what it looks like. Here is a link to some pics I have on my business site. http://www.casdvm.com/photos/
I think we all know about www.bertram31.com don't we? There is also bertram20.com bertram25.com and evern bertram28.com....I think. The 31 site is by far the most active.
Woa Rob awesome job. I didn't know there was that much talent local to Long Neck. I might be trading you about a million offshore trips for some advice and help. I had no idea you did that work. Very impressive. I'm putting together a wishlist for my boat...prep&paint job, glass in front windows, new rear cockpit deck, etc. Been shopping around and can't belive some of the price quotes I'm getting. Might not be getting a thing done with some of the quotes.
Warthog- I had to cut those two knees on an angle and I embedded them in epoxy/cabosil paste however my paste was a little too thin and the knees wanted to slide toward the keel so I just braced them with the dowels until they they set up.
Thanks JK. Did all the work myself, learned allot along the way. I'd be glad to help you out anyway I can. Give me a shout next time you in the area.
Rob
Nice work Rob. Did you spray or roll and tip the Awlgrip? I've never used it before and I'm trying to get an idea of what to expect when I paint my project boat this spring. Any suggestions?
Strick, That looks great! Did you put gelcoat on top of a piece of waxed mdf then coated/built up with epoxy? I was thinking of doing the same to my transom.
Michael- are you talking about the hard top? for that I put two coats of Duratec primer prior to epoxying. For the transom cap I ran out of primer so just started laying down the epoxy onto the mold. I will primer that when complete. I'm going to try using Awl grip primer instead of the Duratec next time as I plan on awlgriping the whole boat anyway.
