currently have a 175 opti. the factory installed gauges are going to be replaced.(boat manf.expense) i have the option of up grading to smartcraft gauges for approx. 300.00. any input positive or negitive would be appriciated.
I have a 2001 mercury 150 hp optimax saltwater and i added on the smartcraft gauges for 300.00 all hooked up and work great if you get a alarm you can read what the fault is and tell the dealer saving a lot of time and money they are well worth the money
I have the Smart Craft gauges with my 200 Optimax and love them. I am amazed by the accuracy of the fuel flow function when I get back to the fuel dock.
I have them and like them, give you a lot of info. My only problem with them is when they go bad, I understand, that it is about $800 to replace them. Maybe, since it is only an additional $300 to up grade, the price has come down.
29NORTH, The $300 is the difference in the smart sraft and the gauges they are replacing, wholesale. the other gauges would fog so bad they were unreadable.
