Default Sirius and Raymarine

Anyone know of Sirirus working on a deal with Raymarine like the Garmin XM deal?

Sirius lost 38 cents yesterday, will probably lose 40 more today. They are having troubles at this time. It cost them $150 to sign someone up. It cost XM $50. They need money and the smart money people think they will be treading water for some time.

Intresting but has nothing to do with the original question that was asked.

They are supposed to be annoucing something at the Miami show, but its all rumor right now.

Exactly, they gave him a lot of stock, it has to come from somewhere. Rule # 1: FOLLOW THE MONEY., also they are going to lay low for a while, to see how many sign ups they get.

it is more like 90 XM and 140 Sirius. with Stern on board Sirius has a very aggressive marketing campaign underway and they added more new subscribers in Q4 than XM.

Yes, there is a deal cooking--should have been anounced--where RayMarine recievers would have the weather channel information:
see: http://www.wsi.com/marine/.

Sorry to hear that Sirius dropped Fox!

honnestly, i have both services. yes sirius has the nfl and more college games, but in reality, what did you buy sattelite radio for. MUSIC!!! XM absolutely dominates sirius in that aspect. XM has deeper playlists and doesnt replay as much so you hear a good mix of music you are familiar with and music that you havent heard before. fox news is also a plus. im deactivating my sirius because the only reason i still have it is for football and i end up watching football on tv 99% of the time. and for what its worth, my dad has XMWX in his airplane and is going to get it for our boat. its amazing. lightning strikes, radar, sea surface temps, wend and wave conditions. I see xm pulling away after the whole howard deal blows by.

I guess that it is all personal taste, but I have sirius because I like the music selection much more than XM. I can watch Fox news at home.

I think he listens "well" enough, FOX doesn't broadcast news, just GOP talking points. Of course some thinking is required..... ;^)

Plus XM does not have a Bruce channel, if you are a Bruce fan, the selection is quite impressive.

Has anyone (other than me) heard a rumor that XM and Sirius are going to merge? Again, it's just a rumor that I heard from what I 'd hesitate to call a reliable source
