Brad,
Go down to the regional section on THT. Parthery and Bob's Cay know the striper well on Lanier. Read their posts and/or PM them. I have never met them, but hope one day they can teach me about the striper in Lanier. Good luck.

If you go north on Ga 400 from Atl and get off at exit 17, turn right. This road will intersect with 369 (browns bridge). Accross the intersection behind the gas station is a good bait and tackle place. Pretty much the only one I know of. To get from Gainesville from there you take 369, takes you right into G'ville.

Where are you putting in at?

Closest to you is The Dam Store on Buford Dam Rd at the Buford Dam. Has ramp. Prices are high, use only if you have to. There used to be Satterfields in G'ville; they sold out (don't know name) but I hear the new owners do a good job.

There are two next door to each other behind the Exxon station. Personally, I prefer Hammond's. From there, its about 3 minutes east on 369 to either Charleston Park or Six Mile Creek. Both are decent ramps (Charleston has 3 lanes, 6 mile has 2.) Head out toward the main part of the lake and right where it opens up (about a 5 min ride from the ramp), look for water in the 85-95 ft range. Been marking plenty of fish in this area. Also, its relatively protected unless we get a SE breeze. The water temps are running in the mid 50's so the fish will be deep.

Welcome to Atlanta...PM me if you need any additional info.

I would also recommend you trying the carter's lake stiper's this time of year. Same deal that they'll be deep and that lake has plenty of deep in it but it's a change of scenery. There are no houses on the lake and your up in the mountains so the scenery/ wildlife is beautiful!
