Is the jet drive a must have? If not check out the Peason True North. Absolutely a gorgeous boat. Only problem is, you have to buy new. There aren't any used ones available. The mid class boat will set you back around 280K. Don't know if this is out of the price range.
That is an awesome boat, one of my friend's has one. You can go full speed in that thing and flip the wheel so it spins around on it's own axis like one of the small jet boats will!
Have you read the lawsuit that Hinckley is putting out against all the copy cat boats, the Belkov in particular? Tell your boss to get the real deal, the depreciation is virtually zero considering some eccentric will come along and insist they stroke a check for it one day, and there are so many of them available right now that he should be in a position to get a good deal on one.
I will second the Matthew Brothers boats, they build a fine line of boats,at much more affordibale prices, customizied to your tastes,Bob and Pete are their names, and I have known them for 10 years, tell them Dangerous Dan,from Tilghman Island sent you...CHECK THEM OUT!!!
Pick up a copy of Maine Boats & Harbors. There are ads for many "picnic Boats". One that comes to mind is Padebco in Round Pond, Maine. I am about 5 minutes from the Hinkley Picnic Boat Plant and about 20 minutes from the main yard in Southwest Harbor. They are so commonplace around here that we don't even look twice at them. Genral concensus around here is that they are way overpriced - unless you need to have the status symbol. I believe there are quite a few on the used market right now - you might find a "deal". By the way, Martha's is about the ugliest one I've seen - cream color with light beige trim and canvas.
