looking at a 272 sailfish and have a question

Hey guys i am looking at a 1994 grady 272 sailfish and the problem i'm having is the NADA book guide doesn't list the 272 sailfish untill 95? I know it is a 272 sailfish or at least thats what the guy said and the emblem on the side says, actually i think it says 272 sailfish sportbridge, any ideas on what year it might be? it also has the newer intergrated transom not the bracket. thanks guys [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif[/img]

mountingman, look at the outside transom on the top right corner as you face the rear of the boat and the serial number should be located there. The last two digits of the serial number should be the year, at least it is on my Grady.

Are you sure it's 27 feet? In 1994, Grady made a 252 Sailfish. In 1995, a 272 Sailfish. As chiefmike says, check the hull id no. I'm willing to bet it's either 1994 Sailfish 25 or a 1995 Sailfish 27.

According to my chart that I posted lasted week (Grady SeaV2), the 272 came out in 1994. Although I thought I once looked at a 94' with a 454 I/O, no eurotransom. Email Grdy they will let you know as they have been helpful in the past.

The 1994 model 252 was called the 25 Sailfish Sportbridge and is 25' 4" at the waterline and 27' 10" overall. In 1995 and through 1997 the identical boat was then called the 27 Sailfish.
We have a 1994 and really love it. Safe, sturdy and well built with full foam flotation she'll never go down from underneath you. They have great resale value (sold our 20 foot Grady in one day to the first guy that looked at it!) and it will serve you well with very little maintenance.
