This technology keeps your tires inflated to the proper PSI even in extreme temp changes. You will hear about this very soon at your local car dealership. We are working out plans now to have Nitrogen Generators installed at all 5 of our locations now. Customer awareness and demand has driven us to explore this technology. It has been used in NASCAR,space shuttle and even the Tour De France. Sooner or later just about everyone that reads this will have it in their automobiles. Boat trailers will especially benefit considering how long some of them sit around w/o use. Cost will be approx. $5.00 per wheel but may vary across the U.S.. N2 is a larger molecule than o2 therefore, it cannot escape as easily as o2 through porous material such as rubber. Proper inflation provides better fuel economy, superior handling and longer tire life. Alot of you have already seen the technology.....This is great for our trailers! Hopefully your tire dealer can n2 up your boat trailer tires soon.

just out of curiosity where do you work? also, when the tires are mounted, how do you get all of the regular atmospheric gas out of the tire before the nitrogen goes in, or is it a non issue considering the overall volume of nitrogen that is introduced?
There is a digital inflator that does all the work...It deflates the tire with a vacuum system and cycles the air turning it into N2. The purge system may take 3 min. per tire until it reaches at least 95% purity with 97% being the goal. Do a search on Nitrogen tire filling and you will see hundreds of systems available. There is already talk of vending stations offering N2 at your local gas/convenience store. This really will help boaters. I have overheated several trailer tires due to low inflation....Im glad the technology is here. I'll PM you autobaun.

Holy Cow the air we breath is 80% N2 give or take a %. The rest is O2 and inter the gases. Ar is the largest at around 1%. Fill your tires and let the O2 leak out for a couple of days and refill a couple of times. This has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard and you want us to pay $5 bucks. That's what gives this stupid idea creditabilty.
Why should I pay five bucks a tire when I can fill my tires with air for free?
Ask Elli May there, jethro! JK. No really, with N2, as long as you dont have a leak in your tire, you will not lose air and have to adjust PSI all the time.

Having spent a few years selling Nitrogen, I can tell you that moisture is one of the big reasons to
switch to Nitrogen. No moisture... no oxygen = no tire rot or rusting rims
I believe that the FAA requires all plane tires to be filled with Nitrogen but I think that has to due to the
chance the vapors might freeze.

CB, I dont want you to pay anything....Im just sharing some technology with you....thats all pal.

Many racers use this because the tire does not heat up as much and they swear that they last longer.

Many racers use this because the tire does not heat up as much and they swear that they last longer.
the primary reason is the consistancy of the air pressure during a run on a set of tires. With them full of nitrogen, they pressure doesn't change, makeing significant 1/2 lb pressure changes actually possible. Without using an inert(sp?) gas such as nitrogen, this wouldn't be possible
Well, none of us will be racing our boat trailers but we will not have to check the psi as often either....Im sure this technology will get cheaper as time goes by.....The rusty rim thing was another thing they talked about...it does stop the moisture and some tire rot.

I'll need to go out and invent the Ronco Pocket N2 Detector and sell it for 9.95 so the public can protect themselves from illigitimate air salesmen........I'll be rich!
I never have trouble with tires rotting or rims rusting from the inside. It always seems to be the outside that goes bad. Must be the sun and salt water. Tell me, will the higher partial pressure of O2 outside the (N2) inflated tire permeate to the inside and once again wreak havoc with my tire?
poppycock!
"fools and their money soon part" a wise man once said. for me, i'll continue to use "free" air in my trailer tires and simply check them at regular intervals.
While coaching H.S. football we tried nitrogen in the footballs! We found that while kicking and punting we gained an avg. of 3-5 yards! But the down side was that while passing in a descent wind, the ball acted like a knuckelball. We never used them in a game.

That one had me laughing! Thats good!

again, my original statement stands
but i can see that perhaps in the Palmetto state nobody has access to free air and the only compressor you can buy there costs 475.00.
