Default Cost to rewire a boat

http://coastalyachtservices.com/boat...ortcraft-3.htm

"01-19-02... $3158 ...New gauge package and hour meter; rewire entire boat."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This guy claims to have paid $3k to have his boat rewired (inluding cost of gauges).

Just curious . . . has anyone here ever paid to have their boat rewired? If so what do places charge for this service? (I'm sure the cost varies depending on the size of the boat and accessories)

That boat has both AC and DC systems. You spend 3 K easy in materials doing solo. You couldent re-wire that whole boat for 3K paying labor, Maybe 5-6. I truly re-wiured my 32 Luhrs, every inch and did it solo. I think I have 1K in the bonding system alone. Heck 5 batteries are 500$ plus new panels. I bet Ive got 5K in materials and a couple hundred hours labor. I completely re0wired Pops 20' Seaox single outboard in a weekend for about 500 in materials plus the Yamaha guages.

I spent over $300 just on battery cable [2/0] and end's for them on my boat. this was buying thru Best Boatwire.com.
At least another $700 in primary wire, shrink tubing, buss bar's and battery switch's. I do have plenty left over. Maybe another $200 in wire end's. Guages $500. 4- Optmia batteries and battery box's = $650.
I haven't even included switch panel, Master panel and fuse panel's.
