So. Cal fishing hook up

I am a so Cal. fishing transplant. I moved to Ohio 5 years ago and now boat and fish on Lake Erie. I will be visiting family in Los Angeles and want to know if anyone will be going out on Sun 16, Mon 17, Thurs 20, Fri 21 and would be willing to take me and a buddy out to the Islands or local for a day of fishing. We'll pay the gas. We have a lot of knowledge on this type of fishing as well as boating/deckhand experience. We aren't fags or anything--just normal fishing fanatics. So, If anyone wants to hook up for a day of fishing any of the above dates please post back. Thanks Paul

I'm just fun'n with yah here Paul, "We aren't fags or anything..." "Aren't" is a negitive. Therefore, the meaning of the sentense should be concidered the opposite of the face value of that sentense. By using the word "aren't" in fact would mean that you are. By saying "are not" would not be reflecting negitivly on the structure of the sentense.

As I said, sorry for the chop. Just thought you might like to revise the wording? I know that I would not want to be concidered a bumchum. Notice how I did not use "wouldn't" in place of "would not". And good luck in hooking up for some fishing.

Garett, can we assume that English is not your first language? Can you please provide a text reference which supports your idea of the meaning of a contraction? I see no difference between the meaning of 'are not', and 'aren't'. I think that you are, in fact, confusing contractions with double negatives.
