Default PETA goes too far

petas latest flyer, titled, "Your Daddy Kills Animals", is being distributed to children at various fishing and fishing related areas throughout the country. The cartoon like picture (not funny) on the cover is of an angry/crazed male with a hooked fish suspended from a line as the man guts the fish. Toward the end of the text, peta warns the children to keep their kitties and doggies away from daddy, as they might be next.

After reading this my blood started to boil. Although my kids are adults now, I thought of the impact this would have on my granddaughters. Many of you have small children, who the hell is peta to try and interfere with how to raise these children. I sincerely hope that someone initiates a massive class action suit againt peta for the emotional upset and scarring that these flyers are sure to produce.

I'm sure peta would like all of us to fall overboard and not return but I feel that they themselves have gone overboard this time.

Click on the link below and then click on view larger image, for the full text. My rant for the day, now I gotta go go gaff a tree hugger.

If you're willing to start the class action lawsuit, I'm willing to join and donate. We could start a fund for it. This may be an opportunity to put these people in their place through liability issues.

If god didn't want people to eat animals, why did he make them taste like meat ?

I am outraged by this flyer but I would like to start off by saying that even though I should keep my political veiws out of this forum I am extremely liberal, anti-war in Iraq, pro choice and beleive we need to raise federal taxes and have congress settle issues such as gay marriage and abortion on a federal level instead of the courts on a state level. I do fish and I do eat animals and fishing is not evil. It is a neccesity for getting fresh, good tasting food, and in the process you have fun and can spend time with your children if you have them. PETA imposing moral beleifs on children is not their job. it is the job of the parents. There are many other things done that are crueler to animals than fishing. In fishing we eat the fish and it is the same as eating meets bought in you local store. This is getting outragous, next they will say you are cruel for barbequing burgers and hotdogs on 4th of July. And then they will say not only will your dady eat your pets but it is cruel to have a pet. All of what PETA is saying is absolutely ubsurd and upsets both democrats and republicans.

Is there any law against them giving this flyer to kids without the parents permission? I know that the first amendment includes freedom of press but that only says they can print it and all of it doesnt apply to minors. Is there a layer on here that can find out if they are allowed to distribute to this flyer to minors without the parents permision. Are they handing it out at schools or were are they handing it out and in what areas of the country.

I wonder if the PETA people realize if they were to fall off a boat and into the ocean the same fish they are trying to protect would devour them without a second thought.

I don't know what all the outrage is about PETA...PETA's actually taste good. Stuff them with some chicken, lettuce, tomato and then some curry mustard...Isn't that what PETA's where made for?

I dont think you will find a PETA person on a boat. I think they say that they harm reefs and the ocean bottom, polute and are just as evil as the fishers on them. what a load of BS.

I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat granola!

But then again, the part about keeping kitties away from me is probably good advice.

I don't know about you guys, but after exploring that web site and and doing my research, and reading that comic book, I felt really ashamed. I am going to put up all my fishing gear for sale, and the boat goes too.Check E-bay for some good deals. No more fishing for me! I am going to take up a new hobby, hunting.

Don't dismiss PETA... These folks are dangerous and fully intend to sell their agenda any way that they can. Look at what they've done in Europe, foxhunting is now outlawed in England, there are specifice regulations regarding fishing activities in Germany, etc. Although most of their activities are ridiculous, they're intent is clear. They want to accomplish here the same thing that "Save the Manatee" did in Florida using any means, fair or foul. Down here in Florida we now have manatee zones in places where no one has ever seen a manatee even though the numbers of manatees are actually increasing...

Here's a tactic that must be carried out. Pay particular attention to anything from PETA that your kid brings home. It will usually be some piece of garbage that a local school (or school board) has been conned into handing out under the guise of saving the environment or other popular cause. At the first sign that your local schools have been had you must protest in the loudest fashion, with reporters and lawyers in tow... A lot of their propaganda gets passed along without comment since it appears foolish but there's plenty of people who don't fish. That's one of the ways Marine Protected Areas (MPA's or "no fishing zones") come to be regarded as reasonable.

Like I said, don't laugh at PETA. They're a real threat to anyone who hunts or fishes, or actually has the audacity to own a motor boat... Fight them at every opportunity, think of it as "pest control"
