I've owned several. Great boats. If you have any specific questions I'd be glad to answer them. Go to the Arima website for general information or arimaboatownersgroup.com for more information and chats about Arima.

I had mine 16 miles out in the ocean off Newport, Oregon many times. They don't go fast in the chop, but very stable and unsinkable like whalers.

Take Care,

ML

Arima's are popular boats here in the NW. They have a flat deadrise = less power to move and stability at rest. They are relatively light as well so they are easy to trailer. They have a tendency to pound when it gets rough, but trim tabs can help with that some. Because of their popularity finding a good deal can be tough - good luck

I don't know too much about these, but on a visual tour, they seem to be a big boat for their length, and also have a very good use of space inside the hull - also seem like they'd be pretty seaworthy too. They are a bit stout of line, but that goes with the territory of generous beam and freeboard.

If you don't mind that styling, you may also want to include Quintrex boats in your search - their 17 footer has similar hull proportions. I just got their 19 - they have a very strong reputation as a rough water boat.

Arima's are terrific boats! I have fished from a few (17 and 21) and they are very stable at rest and will plow through the rough stuff to get you home OK. I would have bought one but their largest is the 22'er. Maybe they will come out with a 24-25'er for that market as well???

Will be glad to - but am afraid that by the time I pick her up it will be time to store her for the winter! Send me a PM - if you are interested I can send an email with impressions/pics from a walkaround when I have her - have a digital camera.

Best,
Barry
