Default Verado 175 First Run

Today I finally got to put my new toy in the water, it is a Mustang Bluewater 2000, (6.3mtrs) www.mustangboats.com.au with a Verado 175. This is the first Verado 175 in Ausse so Mercury set it up fopr me.

Could not really give a good run because there was a 3-4 foot swell but my good does it go. The Verado you can not hear at idle and sound like a turbine when you open her up. I am goimg away for a long weekend the weekend after next and will be able to give iyt a really good work out.

Only one comment is the you need a 800-1200CCA battery to run this motor and therefore you also need a insolator switch that can handle 60+ Amps. So be warned do not expect to use a cheap normal marine battery.

More in a couple of weeks.

Cheers Firebird

Hi Firebird,

Glad to hear you are happy with your new boat. I considered a Mustang 2250 walk around but eventually ordered a Haines Hunter Patriot 680 with a Honda BF225. It's due to arrive mid November. If my dealer sold Mercury I would have got a Verado 250 fitted but as he's the only Haines Hunter dealer in town I settled on the Honda.

Cheers,
Topend.
