Default ft. lauderdale trailer and boat storage question?

I will be moving to the Ft. Lauderdale/Plantation area and would like to purchase a boat. My main concern where to keep it! I am looking to save money and thought that trailering the boat and keeping it at some sort of storage facility that would take a boat/trailer combo would be the cheapest. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

A couple of cities around there have tried to get nasty on people keeping a boat on their own property. I believe Davie even wanted to ban you from cleaning it up in the front yard more than a couple times a year (you would have to get a permit each time). I don't think any of it passed, but I'm not sure. Definitly look into before picking a house. I've seen some places on 84 that offer storage...drive around the marine area near Ft. Lauderdale airport and I'm sure you'll see a few. There are a few nice in/out stoage marinas also... Sundance Marine next to Southport off 17th St Causeway...probably the closest and easiest for you in Plantation. Easy 595 run to US1 and you're there.

My friend has a house in Plantation and has a nice fenced space next to his house for his 24' CC. Might be something to think about.

hey jason, I live in Plantation and will be taking delivery of my boat in November. We share the same problem. I live in Jacaranda lakes and they will allow the boat in my yard, just as long as it is not seen from the street. Won't work for me as the T-top will be showing. My partner lives in east plantation and boats are allowed so I may keep it there is his wife allows. There are some storage places for boat and trailer near Dusky Marine on Brian rd. near old griffin rd. They are east of 95 so your time to the intra coastal is only a few minutes. good luck!

btw..moved to Plantation 1 year ago. Great city to live in, pretty strict on code enforcement, but that's what makes it a great place.

laffer-how about leaving off the t-top, going with a Bimini (with more shade), and keeping it at home. I went through the T-Top v. Bimini debate on my new boat last year, and the bimini won...and I don't regret it, although a t-top does look good and fish better. I'd sure sacrifice it to keep my boat at home.
