Hello -
I'm new to the forum, so thanks in advance for your help and advice.
I need to sell my boat quickly as it looks like I'll moving out of the country for a year for work I live in Massachusetts so am concerned that it may be difficult to move quickly with the winter (yuk) coming soon. I listed it with a local broker but they haven't done too much to sell it.
Does anyone know of any wholesalers, boat dealers, brokers etc.. that buy one year old
boats (22 WA - mid-tier manufacturer)? I'm willing to sell this boat at a GREAT price as I need to move it quickly...
If you can find a dealer, marina or broker that is willing to purchase your boat outright, the offering will most likey upset you. No matter how great a price you feel you are giving, it is most likely no where near an actual cash value that wholesalers are willing to cut you a check for.
Consider this as an example: 2004 Trton 2286 walk around with a single 225-HP Outboard. NADA High Retail = $52,850 Average Retail = $44,790 Used, Trade-In = $38,520....... Most dealers and wholesalers will use 80% of LOW book for an outright purchase = $30,800 and most, at this time of year will try to buy for under $30,000. (By the way, I just flipped open the book and it happened to land on Triton)
If you are ready, willing and able to take that kind of a hit, then grab the yellow pages and start calling dealers. Particularly those that handle the brand you own.
I sold my boat on Boat Trader and Boat Trader.com in 1 week. I would reccommend it to anyone. I paid less than $35.00 and had 30 call after it was sold too. Good luck!
How about joining THT for $29.95 and listing it HERE! The people here are SERIOUS buyers for a great price. Boats sell quicker here, because the buyers are QUAILIFIED!

One thought is to list it in the For Sale forum. If you really have to wholesale it, I would think that someone on the forum looking for a deal would bite very quickly...
Go there and look up your boat , year, model without
geographic area or price so you'll get a nationwide view
of what yours is being listed at! Also you'll see what
options/engines etc each come with. Use this as a guide to
set your price.

Just one POV,
Not this site everyone looking to buy for next ta nothing, I would like to see how many boats are actually sold on THT out of the boats listed?? I sold on Ebay 1 time listing in a week, boat trader and wantad got me 1 call " wasted money" 3 within a couple hour drive from me came and looked all 3 were bidding on it
I have purchsed three on ebay and sold two. You can get an idea of what it will go for on there even if you don't sell it. You will have alot of views and questions. I have also bought from Boattrader. You might want to try www.tidalfish.com. I have seen alot sell on there also.
