Default Outboard shaft extension spacer 9.9/15 John-Rude question

I have a 9.9 Evinrude (for sale) with the extension piece in the mid-section to make it a 20". Is there also extensions on the shaft and shifter inside? My question is actually; Can the motor be changed to a short shaft without buying anything else?

The extension of these motors includes the drive shaft, the shift shaft, the copper tubing that goes into the block for cooling and then the spacer.

Thanks Mud.... I put an ad in the paper for the motor, wanted to be sure I'd be correct telling someone it could be changed to a short shaft without buying any parts.

The answer is NO. The drive shaft, shift shaft, exhaust adapter and water tube are shorter and different parts. (They don't have "extensions")

I have this same question. I have a 15hp johnson 2 stroke and want to remove the extension and put the engine on a skiff. Is it as simple as removing the extension or is it more involved than this? Are there any instructions on how to remove an extension and put the thing back together again? Thanks
