I guess it depends on what your asking for. Do you want a classic style windsheild with an aluminum frame? If so, I would check your yellow page ads for fiberglass boat repair shops (probably listed under " boats". I bought a windsheild for my '68 Larson that I restored many years ago through a local boat repair guy.
I want a simple aluminum frame windshield for a cuddy style boat. Nothing fancy. I've talked to several people in the area that claim to do full boat restorations but noone seems to know any windshield people. Also have tried welding shops and ttop fabricators but no go so far.
Sorry if that seems like a dumb question, I'm pretty sure you don't want the first like my boat, just want to be sure. If you're looking for the latter:

It's been more than 8 years since I last dealt with him, but he was very helpful, and if I remember right, could get just about any windsheild you wanted. It's hard for me to believe(not saying you're wrong - just seems odd to me) that you can't get what you need locally, but hey maybe he'll order it for you or point you in the right direction. Definitely kind of a mom & pop operation, but good people. Hope that helps a little.
Hi SilverG! I think I can help you! I actually work for a windshield manufacturer...I made the one in the Larson picture. I do know of one custom windshield manufacturer, they are in Miami, FL called Ocean Dynamics. If you would like more info, please let me know.
Canvasguy,
Can you give us the magnitude of custom $$ we are talking about? I have a 23' Cuddy that I would like to extend the current windshield up about 12". Straight glass... two halves in front and two sides. Are we talking $200, $500, $1000 or $2000???
Thanks,
MDT
Hey MDT, Yes I could give you an idea of the cost of a custom windshield! It will cost you somewhere between $1000-$2000 depending on how much work is involved.
Hello again! I don't think Taylormade will produce custom windshields but you can try. Also, American Marine is a very good (high quality) manufacturer; not sure if they do custom, but definately worth asking!
