Default Defiant Catamarans

Has anyone heard of these catamarans? How do they perform? Can you trailer with a 10' beam?

Very expensive planing cats. No proven track record for durability as there are very few hulls out there so far.

10 feet, buy a trailer pemit or dry store at the marina.

All I know about Defiant is that they were giving a 27 away at the SKA Nationals this year. After all the advertising now they do not seem to be giving away the hull. Don't know why they changed their mind?

They sell them here in Jupiter but I don't think they sell many. I see the owners personal one on the water every once in a while but thats it.

Powerboat Reports Said this for the conclusion:

"We think David Watton accomplished his goal of providing a more attractive, highly polished catamaran. It is indeed on the level of an Intrepid. Just about everything from the waterline up impressed us.

While the Defiant may deliver softer ride than many monohulls, it's not on the same level as a Glacier Bay, World Cat, Twin Vee, Or Prowler. The Prowler 306(November 2004) is $5,400 less expensive, and is 4 feet longer and 9 inches beamier than the Defiant. In addition, The Prowler is built with Materials and methods on the same high level as the Defiant."

Friend owns one of the first...before they sold the mold. Has twin f225 yahama which under the new builder will not be an option. By far the best looking fishing cat around Ride seem solid in a 2-3 Chesapeake bay chop...very efficient with the 225 set up.

Default defiant

I have owned the 27 tournament class defiant cat. since 2006. this has been one of the best boats I have ever owned. I have had contenders, palmettos all of the big names in boat and this is one of the best I have had the pleasure to own. the ride is amazing. I love the high sides and the built in tackle station. the boat is well built and I have only had to replace the bilge switch on it. very happy with the boat.
