Just wanted to see if the higher fuel prices are altering your plans this weekend? Still planning on heading offshore? I am not. Fuel prices on the water in NC is $3.50/gallon.
My plan was to dive offshore wrecks on Saturday and fish Narragansett Bay on Sunday - these plans have not changed. The weather may alter these plans, but that is about it.

Planning on a weekend at Napatree, leaving in the am will be about a 70mi round trip. Would leave this afternoon but the kid has a school orientation tonight. Just got off the phone with my buddy who owns the marina and he's filling his supply tank tomorrow and he was told but not guaranteed $3.38/gln his price.
I'm not changing my plans at all !!! I've burned 600 gal so far this season....8 weeks left....guess I'll be eating burgers instead of $100/bushel crabs!!!

Sneak down here and I can hook you up with wonderful $30/bushel at the dock.......
Nope, we just decided to set this one out. Not to bad really since I just got home Sunday night from a ten day stay at the boat!
The boat is fueled up and ready to go, but with the current gas situation seems prudent to sit out for a week or two. Sounds like many are struggling with day to day gas needs in Wilmington. No need for us to drive all the way down and add to the problem. Plus, I've had enough storms to last me another week!
Put 200 gallons in the tanks earlier this week to top them off and have just decided to pass on the 300 mile roundtrip fishing adventure. Instead I will go to the family beach house and run my BW Montauk all weekend. Crab and hit range balls and then pick them up for another day of fun. That is one nice thing about tidle waters. At high tide I hit a bucket with a 9 iron at the buoy and then at a 0 tide pick them up. As long as no hacks stop by I get them all back with little effort. Now that I think about it this will be a great weekend. The New Pursuit will just sit in the boat barn ready for our local renezvous in a few weeks.
I might put 50 gal diesel onboard. Don't need it but at over $5 p/gal now it is not going to drop &, though 50 gal won't top up the tank, I won't need to buy again till next May eeven though we still have 4 months of boating left.
Might get a 3 night weekend this weekend but only do 5hrs or so on the propulsion engine. That is 15-20gal of diesel burn.
