Default Removing water spots.

I recall reading a post a year or more ago concerning a procedure for the removal of water spots from glass. I sort of forgot most of the thread, but I do recall using vinager was part of the cure. I searched and found the thread but can't open it. I tried using straight vinager on the glass and rubbing hard to no avail.
Does anyone recall or know how to remove the water spots?
