Does anyone bring any type of chairs like bean bag or deck chairs on a CC boat for those long canyon runs. They sound great but don't they just get in the way?
put them on top of the T top when fishing. I used a bean bag a couple of weeks ago on a freind's boat and fell asleep during the 1.5 hr run back to the dock - they are great!
Here we are on our bean bag chairs running from Islamorada to Bimini, Bahamas. The closest weather bouy that day was reading winds at 22 knots that day. Seas were a true 4-6 with occasional larger seas in the gulf stream. We were able to drink our rum and cokes in comfort and I highly recommend the chairs for long trips. Our wives have taken them over as of late and I no longer get to sit in the chairs!
the seas in that picture sure dont look like 4-6 if u ask me... that boat seems pretty beamy to me, maybe the triple 250's give it away, but if i had a low 20's CC i'd probably think twice about a beanbag. Space on that kind of a boat is too valuable.
I am on a 35 ft with Triple 250's I would not be running the Canyon in a 23 to often.
What do you do with them when you are fishing I am still concerned they will be in the way. Even on a 35 ft CC space is a premium with 1 - 2 BB chairs that big. Has anyone tried a deck chair?
on the 35 their is plenty of room in the head but you would have to take them out when it is being occupied. i think trtion has the largest head in its class or throw them up in the front on the frontword seating. i think two wood be streaching it though
Clover 2695,
On my vacations in the key's (FL) I ordered a bean bag for my wife from: http://www.e-searider.com/
those things ride and sit so nice she had a hard time getting me out off it (LOL) and the service from Pat is really great and it's a THT sponsor.
We used the bag in a 25 CC and it was NIIIIICE!
They are a little more expensive than the supermarket ones but the quality with the seawater and long boat rides is worth the little extra money.
My only regret is that I didn't order one for my 4 week vacation in the OBX last May, talk about looong rides
My two bags fit in the center console when not being used. I got the large chairs from esearider with the taller backs. They work great. I don't know why the seas in that picture look so small, cause they sure looked big in real life! I had one of the guys post the data sequence from the lcoal bouy on that day since we knew it was going to be a rough crossing. Wind reading was 22 knots at Molasses Reef. That picture was taken about 20 miles off Key Largo on the edge of the gulf stream.
Tip Goto Target and get the narrow and tall back BB for about $15 and you will have more seating because of their build. For $15 you can afford to throw them away @ the end of the season.
I run a 24' Hydra-Sports Vector. Got one of the L Shaped BB Chairs e-searider. Awesome quality and fits easily the Center Console when not in use. Very Comfortable for the kids and gives them more stability.
Nicaragwa, for some reason seas always seem to look smaller in photos than they do when you're there in person. Don't ask me why, but it's true. Maybe some engineering genius can explain it to us.

We use the Target bean bags on our Pro Kat, and the ride is great. I read about bean bags on THT a couple of years ago, and found the chairs at Target. The shape is comfortable, yet conserves space, and the handle on the top is really convenient. We toss them into the cabin or on the hardtop while fishing. A pair is about $35 with tax, and we're into the second year without any signs of damage. My wife said they're the most comforable spot on the boat.
I bought a basic Walmart bean bag and loved it for those long trips in the boat or just lounging around. The only negative is that visibility is not as good since you're sitting so low. But if you're asleep that doesn't matter!
This year I purchased a large e-searider and I find it much more comfortable. Being larger it provides more support especially for the neck and head.
Has anyone tried the e-searider tear drop or do most of you get the wedge. Do you think the wedge model would be good turned around facing the transom to watch the trolling spread?
