Default 2 FootItous an Infectious Disease With Cure

Re: Websters New Nautical Dictionary, 2003 Edition
2 footitous n 1: the need to have a boat 2 foot longer than the boat you now have 2: a infectious disease that can spread swiftly larger than 2 feet

Cause:
1) Attending boat shows
2) Checking out the new boats on the floor
3) Talking to a knowledgeable salesperson
4) Returning to the boat for a 2nd & 3rd look

Medicine for the Cure:
1) While dining at her favorite restaurant and at just the right moment, discuss your disease with your loved one
2) Advise her of your pain, your need for quick relief, and the remedy
3) When she lovingly takes your hand and says I hope you feel better soon, its time to move on to the next and very important steps in the cure
4) Get the funds to cure yourself of this very risky disease before it spreads into 3, 4, or 6 FootItous
5) Step 4 consists of selling your boat now on hand http://www.twinveeboats.com/prev_owned.htm

Cure:
1) Cruising on the Chesapeake Bay just before the sun comes up in a new 22 Twin Vee Power Cat

NOTE: The Cause and Cure have some flexibility, but the Medicine is always the same!

Good luck Tom and I hope you are cured soon. I, on the other hand, am too far gone and have skipped right to twelvefootitious. Unfortunatly, "4) Get the funds to cure yourself of this very risky disease before it spreads into 3, 4, or 6 FootItous" is medicine that cannot be obtained legally for twelvefootitous, so I must endure this disease for a few more years and suffer many more days in the sun on my 23' boat

There's another cheaper cure for 2 foot-itis:

1) Buy bow pulpit.

2) Install said bow pulpit on current 20 ft boat.

3) Rename boat 22 Abaco . . . uuhh, I mean 22 Twin Vee . . .

Tom, I have found my step 3 of the "Cure" to be somewhat different. My step 3 can even cause hearing loss and it's not my hand that she lovingly grabs hold off, lol. She even comes up with a name for my next boat, "That Damned Boat." TDB for short. You go man!!

I lucked out on this. I was looking at 20' outboard walkarounds. Took the wife to see them. She like the 22' better and insisted that we get a new boat lift and extend the dock too.

What could I say?

Get real guys

This is 'doc Auguste' letting you know that

As the disease progresses 2 foot-itis becomes 4 foot-itis . . . don't fool around, it can be deadly (expensive)

My case is nearly terminal as I went from 24 ft to 34 ft . . . side effects include extreme joy and more days spent fishing

You guys are just too nice! The wife and I were just off Cape Lookout when hurricane Eduard was about 300 miless offshore. She was on the helm of our 17 Montauk and I was throwing a cast net at Jumpin Mullet. The swells were smooth but huge. She said, and I quote, "Damn! We need a bigger boat". I got 4 feet on that one.

Good for you, Shag!

Beaufort Inlet, in a small Carolina Skiff, did it for me....After a couple years of wakes, chop, incoming tides, and being an all-around trooper, my wife suggested I purchase that used 21' Parker, I'd been lusting after. In fact she insisted.

The hell of it is, not two full years later, I'm thinking...You know, with a 23' and twins, I could get a LOT more days offshore, and....
