Default yamaha f150 oil, oil filter

I know a lot of you guys are running Yamaha 150 four strokes. I intend to do my own maintenance on mine and bought filters at $20 a piece, STICKER SHOCK! Got home and started looking for a cross reference for fram and others to no avail. Tried here with no help (search). So i went to the Amsoil tech site and sent a e-mail and got a response I tought I'd share.

Victor,

Thank you for contacting AMSOIL with your concerns,

In response to your inquiry, the AMSOIL oil filter number for this application is SMF103. Our AMSOIL WCT 10W30 is an excellent choice for this engine and is specifically formulated for this type of application. WCT is NMMA FC-W certified so you do not have to worry about warranty issues.

Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to your concerns. As always, please feel free to contact us again if we can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Ed Kellerman

Manager, AMSOIL Technical Services
