Default Rigging Question

Have a relatively new boat that was rigged incorrectly, the black plastic sleeves that house the wires that run from the engines into the bilge area below the transom were cut too short and pop off near the motors whenever they are turned at an extreme angle (these plastic tubes are secured at the motor with wire ties).

I would like to be able to initiate repairs myself since we are in the middle of fishing season and am wondering if anyone can offer a suggestion for making repairs to this setup, that will get me through the season until I can get the boat back to my preferred repair facility. Am wondering if there is some type of flexible plastic or rubber tubing that I could wrap around the wires and make them fairly watertight? Any help offered will be appreciated.

I'd remove the ties and wrap the wires with PVC tape until you can get a permanent fix like splicing in more wire. There is heat-shrink wrap available that will provide a lot of protection especially if you tape over them. Keep an eye on the wires to avoid any problems from friction or stretching.

Any splicing should be done so that the joins are not going to be submerged (imo). You can tidy up the repair by getting wire wraps which are available at any parts store or automotive department.

Good luck!
