Default Who makes the best rain gear for fishing?

Who makes the best rain gear for boaters fishing during the summer time? 50* to 80* temps.
Haven't found anything good yet. The rain gear I bought in the past leaks at the seams after an hour of light rain or I sweat my butt off in the PVC crap. Wonder what rain gear commercial fisherman wear? Maybe that stuff is the best?

I need to buy some new rain gear (probably for the whole crew too) when we are fishing tournaments.

Grundens is the best and what is used commercially in many industries.

http://www.grundens.com/

Otherwise there are many good consumer grade companies out there ...Helly Hanson off the top of my head. Maybe a bit too much of a style statement and expensive for some but good stuff regardless.

I use my northface jacket and some bibs I picked up at BPS. The northface is made as a cold weather jacket when you put the fleece liner in it and zip up the arm pits, but with no liner in it and the armpit breathers wide open I stay very dry and plenty cool while bass fishing tourneys in Ga in the summer. 80 to 90 degrees when it's raining. As soon as it quits raining and the sun comes back out it gets hot quick but the jacket breathes extremely well and is 100% water proof. Not cheap though. I bought a cheaper version of the same jacket made by mckinnely for work and it's dry as well but man it doesn't breathe in the summer and is to hot to wear. You get what you pay for!

I commercial fished the Bering Sea for 30 years [ Captain ] & the last pair of Grundens were used 15 years up there & I still use them for hunting down here in the lower 48 for the last 4 years & if I hung them on a hanger & put them in a marine store you would swear they were brand new.
Yeh, kinda pricy but I paid $150 for them 19 years ago & ......well, you read my post.

My North Face Mountain Light Gortex jacket and pants work very nicely as well. When I wore out the old jacket, I sent it back for repair and North Face sent me a brand new jacket, free - shipping too!. Something about their lifetime warranty in the reply.

You can unzip vent areas under the arms for warmer days. With the Fleece liner zipped in, it is warm enough to hang out in 20 degree weather all day. Without, you hardly break a sweat here on the Gulf Coast in the summer.

In the winter I always wear insulated coveralls so I still throw my frog togs over that to stay warm and dry.

Grundens! By far the best rain gear and the only pair you will ever buy! You can still pick up a set of bibbs and a jacket for $150.

Grundens is the best and used commercially in a lot of wet industries.

http://www.grundens.com/

I just replaced a 18 year set that I have been using since the mid 80's. The new set was 3 times what I paid for my original rain gear. The stuff lasts forever but then again you only use it when it rains and I live in California.
