Default 2000 ficht 225 hp

Just bought Flynny7 hydra with the ficht, 4 days with it and it is running fine. Always use first hand info. many folks say stay away from the 2000 Ficht even the cashier at the marine store. People like to spread rumors. Stick with 1st hand information and do your homework.

Flynny7 knows his stuff.

I have two 200 hp Y-00 Fichts with close to 500 flawless hours on each. Maintain them, and they won't let you down. Most of the problems where in earlier models. There were some recalls on the 00's for fuel line brackets, but other than that I couldn't ask for better motors.

Ssshhhh – be very, very, quite about the FICHTs. Don’t let the word get out that they are good motors. Let people keep running them down to keep the prices low.

I bought a used 1999 200 hp with a couple of hundred hours on it 2 1/2 years ago for a song. Closing in on 700 now and not a hic-up. Does run better on Penn 100% synthetic then on dino oil.

If it works for you great! You must have a cherry! I got burned big time on one. Anything past the OMC demise is probably is ok.

I had a pair of them that were pretty good when they were running. In less than two years I had them they had over 15k in repairs to keep them running thankfully most of it was extended warranty. I maintained them with treatment that should keep the worst of engines running to no avail. Once the warranty was up the boat went on the market and sold for a song but thankfully it was the same price I bought it for two years prior.

It seems as if these motors are terrible. I guess every once in a while a freak comes through the factory lines and man am I glad I was the one who got it. I am over 1200 hrs with mine and this thing hasn't even attempted as much as a miss. I have kept the synthetic oil and carbon gaurd in it since day one though and maybe that helps. Thanks for coming.
