Local dealer seems to have it configured both ways. Trying to see the bennies in having duals on this boat other than the safety factor. At 840 pounds versus 580 or so for a big 250, I can't imagine there is any performance difference.
Anyone have this boat and care to share experiences on speed and motor size? Between it and the 24, I'm probably more interested in the 22 for fuel economy.
Definately love the snap access to the bilge. Halleuleauh a manufacturer figured out people over 2' tall work on and use these boats. All pumps are within arms reach from the bilge.
Curious about likes and dislikes and particularly motor preference. If I'm correct price with twins is around 47k, price with a single should be about 10k less?
With all due respect, you can't touch a McKee 22 with a single 250 for anything close to $37K. $45K would buy a stripped version but with a decent trailer and a reasonable option package you wil be pushing $50K.
Stretch, I threw out that number after looking at boat trader. A local dealer has the 140's for $47k, so I figured a single engine setup would be considerably less?
Millway Marine has advertised that same boat for sale on boattrader.com since last fall. For some reason (maybe the twin Suzukis), that boat has not sold. Apparently, with the 2006 models being released soon, they have resorted to the "special price" to move it off the lot. I really don't know.
What I DO know is that if that same boat was rigged with a Yamaha F250 or Evinrude 250 E-Tec, Millway would have no trouble selling it for $45K.
Scott, I thought Dana sold that 22 with the twin DF140s?
At any rate, that boat was priced special as it was used at the dealer meetings, I believe it was hull number 1 or 2.**606 on this forum has the other test boat with a single ETEC that was at the Miami boat show. You could probably get a new 22 with a single Yamaha F225 for $48K, maybe $47K. I thought you were thinking about the McKee Craft 24?
gf at 40k I'd have taken two 22's !! Okay that probably explains it, also I didn't see the boat, or I should say I saw the boat, but somebody owns it! No harm no foul, I was just wondering/suprised it was at that price to begin with.
The 24's all seem to be in the low-mid 60's with a single motor. 22's around 48. I'll have to take them both for a ride before I decide for sure on which boat I go with.
I'm not sure I could go with another Yamaha. I have no interest in the 2 stroke E-Tec, so that kind of leaves the big Suzuki (Millway sells) as an option.
