Default Regulator 26fs

I'm looking to install a three-sided enclosure, but am not sure if I should come straight back along the sides of the center console or over to the gunales and back to provide more room. I believe that Regulator rigs it the second way, which is the direction I'm leaning. Any experiences, complaints, or advice would be appreciated.
Regards

Obstructing the walk way between the console and gunwhales kinda defeats the purpose of a center console, doesn't it?

PS: Your ride is one of my all time favorites.

Yep, Regulators factory canvas runs the curtains to the gunnels, then aft. I agree with Chemguy, it restricts you being able to walk unencumbered to the bow with out climbing onto the gunnel to walk around. I have always used a custom canvas shop and rigged my wing curtains to slope back behind the leaning post with turnbuckles or clips that are easy to detach so you can walk forward on the sole of the boat easily and safely. The factory Regulator curtains also run directly across to the gunnel on a contuning plane from the winshield to the gunnel which also in not very aerodynamic.

Regulator makes a great boat, but I don't really like thier canvas set up. On the plus side though, it is roomy behind the curtains and your access to the side console door is easy.

I assume the enclosure is removable. The wings to the gunwale is much better when running. You can undo the snaps at the gunwale and walk all aroung the boat without a problem

I agree with Greddy, the only time I use my curtains is when I'm running and there is no real need to go up front.

If you are running long distances in inclement weather than there is only one choice. The smaller telepone booth type eclosures just don't cut it. It is hard enough to avoid the spray with the wings deployed. I will take the inconvienience of not being able to walk forward anytime over getting soaked, and yes the Regulator is a dry boat, especially compared to my Contender. You will only be dropping the curtains when running and won't really need or want to get to the bow then anyway.

I have a friend looking for a used 26 Regulator. Anyone know of one for sale? There is one for sale on the "For Sale" BB here but he thinks it's overpriced.
