Boston Whaler Outrage

I like center consoles -- my wife says we need a boat with a cabin. The 28-foot Boston Whaler Outrages made 1999 - 2002 seem like a compromise that might work. But they have a funny bow - kind of donut-shaped and blunt with an exaggerated chine. I worry it will be a hard-pounding boat. Has anyone had experience in one of these? I'm also loking at Stamas 290 Tarpon center consoles -- any first-hand reports on them much appreciated.

I have a 1991 25 Outrage with forward cuddy and whalerdrive bracket with twin 150's...LOA is about 27'. I take my boat offshore and it rides great and is dry as a bone.... The model your referring to is a brute, a serious offshore boat built like a tank... Im not familiar with the ride of that model/year hull. It does appear to me, to be a rough ride due to the lack of deadrise....You'll know for sure after a seatrial...Good Luck. www.anglerinamerica.com

I'm already a Whaler owner and thought the same thing. I did some research and the opinions were not favorable.
