This is what I have. I like the 2 points of contact for each leg, the fabric allows good air flow when you're sitting, and they're lightweight/easy to fold and stow away.

I bought the white vinyl ones from Boaters World and I was disappointed with them. One of them lasted about a year and the bottom disintegrated. It was not even wood, some kind of compressed board junk. For the money, I expected a lot better construction. I replaced it with one of the fabric covered chairs and like it. It's easier to handle and is comfortable.
I know they're not quite the same, but what about those Wal-Mart $10 fabric chairs? You know, the ones that fold up into a fabric sleeve? I store them quite easily onboard and they're really cheap.

Whatever you buy, replace the plastic tips with crutch tips. The crutch tips come in the same size as the chair tubing and will keep the chair from sliding around, even when no one is in the chair.
First of all, stay away from anything that says 'marine' on it. Oh yes, it is nice to have the anchors & fish & stuff on them, but how good are they really? I have a couple of West Marine canvas/aluminium chairs that have been repaired & are about ready for the trash after only 5 years use. I also have a couple of far less expensive folding resin chairs, 3 years old, with reclining backs that look like they were bought yesterday.
PS - I saw this thread and just got the new West Marine circular today, They have these heavy aluminum chairs on sale for $100 (from $150). Don't know if that's the best price you'll find but that's what I paid for mine 20 years ago.
