Default How do you physically move a 21 Contender's console forward?

Has anyone ever done this?

I believe I have seen someone on this forum mention this before.

Thanks in advance.

not yet....I am concerned about the cockpit space. How is the console attached to the hull?

I did mine. I moved it 10". It made a big difference in the cockpit. Mine is the same distance as the 23. The 21 and 23 are pretty much the same size inside. I installed a Command Center Leaning post and cut the baitwell out in the floor (leaving the infloor hatch cover hinged) for better access to the bilge. It was a real pain but worth it. I sharpened a 5in1 painters tool and took a hammer and drove it around the the console to cut the 5200. Once you get it loose on a corner I cut long skinny wedges from a salt treated 2X4 and kept driving them under to keep pressure on the console as I worked my way around. Once you get it going it gets easier. The console is through bolted and is pretty easy to unbolt through the access panels in the console.

Apparently, a kicker with bracket can be added to the Contender 21. You can see the kicker bracket in the corner of this pic:

You might can contact the owner for details. Here's the link to that boat on boattrader.com:

hhmmm...easiest was to move the console forward - but a slightly bigger, similar hull with the console already positioned further forward - Bluewater 2150......

The BW's are currently to hard to find used. I don't think there is one 2150 on boat trader.
