Default Minicraft or Spectrum Color for gel coat repair?

I have an 18 year old Blackfin. Over the years the boat accumulated a number of small dings inside and out. I filled a couple in with white Marine-Tex, but I am not happy with the result. The repair is pretty obvious and when I was doing the repair I sanded thru the gel coat in a couple of areas and made it look even bigger. (There may have been an old repair in the same spot, it's the corner of the transom.)

I have checked both the Spectrum color and Minicraft web sites. It appears that the colored gell from either would be ok. I also like the Minicraft spray system for the already filled in holes, but it's expensive and it appears that you waste a whole $25.00 can of color match gel coat every time you mix the catalyst using the one time purchase $25.00 catalyst mixer.

I need to color match the area the size of two one dollar bills. I do not have a spray gun. I have maybe five other dings the size of a quarter that I need to fill and color match. Any suggestions?

A while back I needed to repair some dings/gashes.

I called Aquasport ( Wellcraft) and they said Spectrum was there gel coat supplier. I didnt wanna go the Marine Tex route.

I called Spectrum with my year and model number and they matched my color perfect. Looks great !!

Yeah it was those say 3-4 ounce cans. Dont remember the price, but it did match.

I've used Spectrum color and have been 100% satisfied with the results. The color match was perfect and the product easy to use. I have never used the Minicraft product.

I have used Spectrum for a number of years, both an old Bayliner (THT Gods please forgive me) and the last eight for a SeaSwirl Striper. All I had to do was call them and ask for SeaSwirl White and within a week had a little jar that matched perfectly. Only problem is my lack of ability, not the match by Spectrum. Oh, by the way, their online catalogue doesn't seem to be working very well right now but they have an 800 number.
