Default Any Grady White Tournament 205 or 225 owners?

I just got a a 205 and love it..but have a question about them. In the floor towards the rear of the boat, there are two 7"inspection plates, about 2 feet apart. If you take the covers off..there is nothing but a big hole. Two big holes, actually, all the way to the base of the boat. Now it seems to me that this would be an excellent storage or even a fish box, but i'm no boat designer. Is this where they keep the wood rot I keep hearing so much about?

Seriously..what is this empty area for?

Joe: I'm not familiar with your particular model but I can say that Grady won't put much of anything under the deck that would drain into the bilge. I have a similar 'empty' space on my boat that is where the auxiliary fuel tank would go - if I had one.

I'm going to guess the optional fresh water tank goes there. I've got a panel over mine that has screws all around it for access jut in front of the motor well.

I'm not familiar with your boat either, but my old Tournament has a similar area (that's pretty darn big) and it is where the auxilary fuel tank goes. on mine.

The 208 has 2 inspection plates in the motorwell..if you remove them you can see right down to the bilge pump.* I'm thinking this might be what you are referring to.* You can look through them to do a visual inspection of the bilge.* If you needed to get down there, easier access would be found under the rear jump seats by removing the batteries and/or oil tank.
