Default Filling in the holes....

I have some annoying holes on the console from past mounts and want to either cover them or fill them in. What do you guys recommend and use to cover/ fill in the holes?

Put a piece of masking tape on the back side of the holes and inject epoxy thickened with Cabosil. Tape off the front side to keep the epoxy from running. After the epoxy dries, grind out a shallow hollow over the filled hole and fill the hollew with the right color gel coat. I must have filled 50 holes in my boat using this procedure. It works well.

I recommend a combination of ubetcha's and Chemguy's methods: Use the marine tex to fill the hole but cover with gelcoat. Marine tex will yellow from uv over time.

If, down the road, you want to install new screws you can drill marine tex.
