Default Question on engine family, hp, and predicted longevity

Just a general knowledge/opinion question. I have a 2001 Ficht 115hp on a 175 Osprey. I believe the V-4 line includes 75, 90, and 115 hp. Is there any info./ opinions on longevity issues with choosing lower hp model for better longevity? I may not be framing my question properly, so forgive me. Is the 75hp detuned or is the 115 'hot-rodded'? Is it a given that lower hp engines in a particular family of engines will have generally better longevity than their higher hp brethren when put in as close to an equal situation as possible? Just a general question. I remember when looking for advice on my first new automobile purchase it was recommended to buy the more powerful engine for longevity and resale value. I've always wondered if the same was true about about outboards. Do you think there is any difference in longevity issue based on hp in a particular engine family? Thanks for your responses.
